A simple decision I enjoyed making: instead of begrudging our Lady Friday (who comes on Thursdays) for having a smug attitude and being careless, (e.g. putting a red T-shirt in the washing machine with white shirts or throwing away an important packet of stuff), I decided to think differently. I thought how she might feel about caring for other people’s stuff all the time, and how that can’t be easy. I realized I shouldn’t expect her look like she loves her job when I know she doesn’t. Suddenly I wasn’t so bothered by her behaviour but rather by mine. Choosing to be filled with light thoughts feels so much nicer than their murky counterparts.
