60th family photos

Photos for 60th album selected, scanned, laid out and printed on 28 pages. Eventually. After switching design programs, thereby re-doing the whole thing, three times.
Was a cool and well-received pressie though!

Photos for tv screens selected, scanned and saved by the professional photographer as a PowerPoint presentation instead of a DVD playable file. Disappointingly, no slideshow of old photos on the night.

New photos snapped throughout Grampa Lala's fabulous birthday celebration weekend. Candles blown out *snap* Baby M discovers sorbet *snap* Son and couZin swim with the dads *snap* *snap* All just sitting around *snap* *snap* *snap*

My sister's husband commented on feeling surrounded by Paparazzi, which succeeded in getting us to back off. For a few moments.

The most surprising photo came in a book given to my dad as a gift. Granny Bess and her sister Jen as young girls beside their late dad Rowley, famed for his activism during the Apartheid struggle.

It feels as if my husband's late grandfather came to meet my dad in the form of this old photo. Two men whose impact in the world is not small. Two men I admire so much and both with many qualities I hope my children will embody.

x ...I think photos like being printed... x
