Fun?

What can make the 30km drive to school in rush-hour traffic fun?
Son and Rachel holding hands and singing along to Beautiful Creatures in the backseat.
What can make driving straight back to Durban from Umhlanga fun?
Helping out a mom friend by taking her son with me and having him, all of two years old and usually so reserved, initiate a game of peek-a-boo with me as we coast along the M4.
What can make the second school drop-off of the morning fun?
Having Miks join us in the car full of smiles and clapping, making her new friend laugh out loud.

Okay so for 2 hours in the car, fun is pushing it a little. But fun is relative on a Wednesday. Like this blog is fun and a writing meeting and a swimming lesson; fun. Fun like finding a new rake, though not a new dress which I need and would be really fun. Fun like the tick tick tick off my to-do list. Fun like the salad I just made for lunch a bonanza of left-over veggies and quinoa and sprouts. Just fun, y'know
