14 months

Baby M is 14 months today

She is a busy and brave girl who is happiest when her adventurous spirit is unrestricted. She likes exploring new places and new tastes, smiling through it all and preferring not to have to sit for too long.

She is very expressive with a myriad of facial expressions and sounds to accompany them. Her favorite is a squeal which can be of delight or direction; shrieking bossily to let a person know what they should be doing for her. She does a great bark and an excellent hardidar impression too. There are even some real words emerging: more, ta, here, bye, bottle (kind of) and mama (which at night becomes an infinite "maaaamaaaaamaaaamaaaamaaaa" reverberating through the dark house, pulling me from my deepest slumber onto my feet and into her room).

Generally though she is amazing when it comes to sleep with a daily 3 hour sleep in her cot between 11 and 2 then bedtime at 6:30pm. At night she is happy to be put in her cot after her routine of bath, teeth-brushing (which she loves), board books and bottle then, with her bunny held close and her dummy nearby, she sleeps till at least 6am usually with a little bottle call around 4.

She has 6 teeth with more on the way any day and is yet to have her soft curls cut.

We are thankful everyday for having her in our lives and for all the joy she brings us.
