From the day Son was born we have bathed him pretty much daily. He skips the odd bath and we occasionally mix things up but generally we're a bit religious about his bedtime routine. Having a predictable end to the day has always appealed to us for him. While the music he listens to as he falls asleep has evolved over the years, the core routine has been steadfast:
dinner -> bath-> story-> milk-> music-> sleep.
I hope to have Baby M bathing with Son soon, but we're not there yet. In the meantime she gets her bath in the morning. Sometimes. Hence my Google search. I was sure bathing her two or three times a week couldn't be too bad. I mean, I wipe her face, neck and bum area more often and she really doesn't do enough to get grimy elsewhere. But with niggling guilt as we get to day 3 without a bath once again, I decided to Google for confirmation (hopefully!).
Any fears can now be allayed:
livestrong.com says "during the first year of life, it is fairly easy to keep your baby clean without giving him daily baths... Three tub baths per week may be enough for a baby under 1 year of age, according to the AAP. As your baby gets older and more adventurous, especially when he begins experimenting with solid foods, you may find that he needs more frequent baths."
