New routine

I blame my lack of blog posting on Son's new routine. He only sleeps for an hour, maximum 2, during the day. Usually somewhere between 10:30 and 12:30. This means a lot of awake time, which I like to try spend with him where possible. As you can imagine, a computer keyboard is just the thing a nearly-one-year-old likes to smash- especially if it is stealing mom's attention. Just like a newspaper is something to tear. And a telephone is something to grab, pull, stand on and call 'Hiiiiii' into. So generally, time with Son means time not with anything else. Even the shops have become no-go areas; he doesn't like to be restrained, see. He has outgrown the trolley-as-playpen phase and has entered the pull-colourful-things-off-shelves phase. At restaurants, gone are the days he'll sit in a pram or highchair munching on crackerbread while I sip coffee. Now he walks around staring up at other people sipping coffee as I follow, a small distance behind, making sure he doesn't get hurt or cause too much damage, whilst my coffee gets cold in the background.

So a quick catch up...

HANNAH TURNED TWO and had a small party at school

WE WENT TO CAPE TOWN FOR PESACH

SPENT TIME WITH THE DAVIDOFF/KATZ CLAN (who we love and miss and wish we could spend time with always!)

VISITED MY OLD UNIVERSITY CAMPUS

MET DARLING RAFI (my friend Lori who lives in London's babba)

And got Son's routine even more messed-up; falling asleep early and missing bath time, teeth brushing and supper TWICE!

(No picture, just imagine stinky hungry baby with dirty feet)

We're just getting back on track now, but it still means we'll probably be low on fresh blog posts till Son goes to school!
