Better butternut for this young ram

Son's personality is developing and beginning to make itself known to those around him, as can be seen from this one example from the past weekend. We were at friends for lunch and I was trying to feed Son his butternut/carrot/sweet-potato mixture. I have now worked out how to make it so that he enjoys it, but I hadn't worked it out yet by Saturday so we weren't having much luck getting him to open his mouth. My friend, who was hosting the lunch, took over, giving her experienced hand a go. But still Son's mouth wouldn't budge. She later told me that she thought he just hadn't learned how to eat solids yet. Little did she know! Eventually Son won and we gave up on my mixture. Then my friend had the idea to scoop some butternut out of the stew that the adults would be having for lunch. She mushed it up and tried again. Once his little tongue got a taste of it, his mouth shot open. And then again and again until all the tasty stew butternut in his bowl was finished. This boy knows what he wants and can be tenaciously unwilling to move! Well, they do say an Aries personality is always a force to be reckoned with...
