After such a yuk Friday things had to get better, and they did, starting with a lovely dinner on Friday night and continuing sprinkles of fun across the whole weekend.
Here, I made a list of some of my best things:
Coffee and scrambi (organic scrambled eggs) and reading the Saturday Independent at Corner Café with my husband
Finding a gorgeous warm winter jacket from Billabong
(which will serve me well at the cold Grahamstown festival later this week) and resisting a cute pair of black Converse takkies that were just a little bit tight for my foot on right.Gym session: Cardio on neighbouring treadmills followed by some light weight training.
More food: Yum homemade tuna salad with chillies, caper berries and a couple of rice cakes on the side.
Subtitled DVDs: the exquisite ‘Pans Labyrinth’ and quirky ‘God is Great, I am not’ with Audrey Tautou.
Retaining champion status and an unbeaten score in our ongoing Jezzball tournament.
Being humbled on the mashi golf course in 9 short holes (played out of order to avoid four year-olds, big groups, and waiting around in the mad sun).
Voyeuristic wondering through old Glenwood houses on show and finding one I could live in… now, and forever… if only we had a few million…
Having my cute niece come over for chats (even though she can talk yet), games (even though she has no idea what’s actually going on) and staring into the fish tank.
Poker with friends
Finishing my book (only to discover it was based on a completely unrealistic premise)
Sleeping
Feeling loved
Whew! I really appreciate that there's a weekend at the end of every week! Who ever decided on that one really knows what he/she is doing...
Hope you had a good one too
