Experiencial learning

Little M didn't go to school again today
Her nose keeps running and needs constant wiping and blowing
Clear, then yellow then green

Colours

Like the peppers in our garden
Green then red with orange in between
As we go around the garden
Climb the ladder up, up, up
More colours: a green bar, red bar, blue bar and yellow
Slide down, down, down
Leap across the grass 1, 2, 3
Head-over-heals
Feet together jump block to block 1, 2, 3

Colours in the car
Lights go green then red with orange in between
We stop, we go
Window up, window down
Wave hello

Then petrol fill-up unleaded
Water on the windscreen
Wipe up, wipe down
Wet then dry
Dirty then clean
One side and then the other

At the shops we say the names of fruit and veg
We say please
We say thank you
We accept that we don't always get what we want
We work together to unload the basket

Back home
Yellow key for the door
Purple key for the gate
Wash hands, hey it's wet and dry again
Dirty then clean again
Wipe wipe nose again

We eat our muffins from the shop
Drink tea with honey and milk
Not too hot, not too cold, just right

Then its nap time
Kiss face, kiss feet, kiss tummy
With bunny, dudu and dummy
"No dark"
Eyes open then closed
Door ajar: not too wide open, not closed

And for a few hours it's stop not go

Just because we aren't at school it doesn't mean we can't learn

I love your poem - such a nice tangle of images and colours and words. I got such a 'feel'for your sweet-shop day.
