As far as wedding retinues and venues are concerned the two weddings that had us flying up to Jo’burg this month really topped those categories.
Lori
, looking like a real Barbie-doll, had all her girls dressed in a rather brave shade of blue. Any stress there may have been about whether the colour would clash with the serviettes or the skin tones (or whatever people worry about when they worry of such things) was, as you can see, totally invalid. They looked magnificent and could proudly have gone on to walk down the Oscar red carpet on the arm of Ryan Phillippe or any of the other hotties who showed up dateless to last nights event.Daryl’s wedding this past weekend was at Hazeldene Hall- a house which is over a century old. In the courtyard, under the tingle of the Highveld afternoon sun, guests gathered around the chuppah to witness the ceremony. Then shoes came off and we danced circles around the bride and groom on the lawn as day folded into night. Dinner and speeches were upstairs in the ornate hall and merry mingling spilled over on to its wrap-around veranda.
It's great to have more friends join us in marriagedom, and these guys sure have done it in style. But aside from hosting a great jol, both couples had at the core of their weddings the stuff that really matters too... like good cake and take home gifts. kidding. I just didn't want to be mocked for sounding like too much of a romantic! You know what I mean...
